Plain Witness

The burden is clarity. A witness should make correction possible, not bury it under ceremony.

If the next reader cannot tell what was done, the record is asking for faith it did not earn.

The house values witness because trace, sequence, and maintained memory are how truth survives pressure.

Smoothness becomes hostile when it removes the mark that would let a later witness find the original pressure.
